The Australian Shepherd Club of America - ASCA was established as the parent club for the breed in 1957 and is the largest independent breed-specific club in the United States.
Australian Shepherd Health and Genetics Institute - ASHGI is a non-profit established in 2002 dedicated to research and education about the genetic characteristics and inherited diseases in the Australian Shepherd breed. ASHGI also runs a privately owned pedigree database with owner-reported health data.
